Julie Johnsen
Hi, I’m Julie Johnsen - an interior architect based in Tromsø, Norway leading projects locally and internationally through my studio and the Design Collective.
My design philosophy blends timeless aesthetics with modern functionality. I care deeply about how materials feel, how light moves through a space, and how interiors impact the people who use them. From private residences to large-scale collaborations, my vision is always to create spaces that feel grounded, thoughtful, and distinctly personal.
At the core of my practice is a balance between creative intuition and careful attention to detail - turning ideas into environments that feel just right. While I work globally, my roots in the Arctic play an important role in shaping my perspective. Living close to extreme, raw nature has shaped a design mindset grounded in comfort, intention, and atmosphere. This approach defines my work - interiors that are precise and refined, yet inherently warm and welcoming.
